NOMINATION FEE: $500 (US FUNDS) - DUE MARCH 15, 2008

$500 (us Funds) to start in eliminations. $1,000 (US Funds) to start in the final.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1.          The conditions of all races will comply with the Rules and Regulations of the Michigan Racing Commission and the U.S.T.A.

2.    Entries close and horses must be named by date specified. Nomination fee due at the time of closing.

3.    If more than 11 declare to start, the race may be divided into divisions.

4.    If there is more than one division of any of the preliminary races, each division will race for a minimum of 80% of the advertised purse.

5.    Elimination dashes or a qualifying dash will be held one week prior to the final. If only one division, the first 9 in the official order of finish qualify for the final. If two divisions, the first 5 in the official order of finish in each division qualify for the final. If three divisions, the first 3 in the official order of finish qualify for the final. If four, five or six divisions, the first two in the official order of finish qualify for the final. If more than six divisions, all official heat winners to start in the final along with official second place finishers drawn by lot to fill the remaining positions for a total of not more than 12 starters. Also eligibles to be drawn from remaining second place finishers if this is the case.

6.   In the event that qualified horses do not enter for the final, starters in the series with the next highest placings that declare may be drawn into the final in order to meet he requirements of the maximum amount of permissible starters based upon the number of eliminations.

 

    Ties to be determined by lot. Where there are horses unable to finish due to an accident and there are fewer horses finishing than would usually qualify for the final, the additional horses qualifying that declare    for the final may be drawn by lot from among those unoffending horses not finishing.

7.   Post positions for all events to be drawn by lot.

8.   All legs will be raced one dash at one mile. Money divisions in all legs will be 50, 25, 12, 8 and 5 percent.

9. All horses must meet the qualifying standards of the Judges for late closing events before being drawn in to race.

10. Five separate interests will be required in each leg and the final or the race may be declared off.

11. All contests may be raced as either betting or non-betting events.

12. Hazel Park Harness Raceway reserves the right to reject any entry, return any entry fee, declare off any leg if conditions warrant, and call off any leg not filling satisfactorily.

13. Should any unforeseeable conditions, including but not limited to incomplete construction works, prevent the racing of the preliminaries or the Final, all nomination and starting fees will be refunded to the remaining eligibles.

14. Hazel Park Harness Raceway is not liable and assumes no     responsibility for loss by fire, theft or accident of or to persons, animals, equipment or vehicles on the premises owned, leased or  controlled by any or all of the foregoing. Use of the grounds, track  and buildings, owned, leased or controlled by Hazel Park Harness  Raceway is a Person’s or Owner’s risk and is assumed in full by any owners, trainers, drivers and their employees or agents.
